My artists’ book, For those Who Traverse the Night, has been selected for the permanent collection of the Correspondance Des Arts/Book Art Museum in Łódź, Poland and will be shown together under the umbrella of the Book Art Museum as FREEDOM Project / Kolekcja.
The freedom to seek freedom: we who live in comfort may take it for granted. This book is dedicated to the women who risk their lives to seek freedom. Mothers, sisters, and daughters who travel through the night to escape war, persecution, and hunger along with the unspeakable ills that make up their daily existence. Women, who at night-fall must make a perilous journey under cover to shores they may never reach. Mothers, whose small children perish on the difficult crossing. Sisters, escaping from sanctioned abuse, fall victim to human trafficking. And daughters, who are forced into child labor, forbidden to go to school. To deny the freedom to seek freedom is to deny our very own humanity.
